Gangstarr (Feat. Nice & Smooth) “Dwyck”
1992 produzierten Gangstarr und Nice & Smooth den Hip Hop-Klassiker “Dwyck”. Sowohl das Video mit Mädels in Bikinis am Strand, als auch die Raps selbst sind Oldschool:

Der Remix basiert auf einem Akkord des Songs “Outta Control” von 50 Cent und Mobb Deep, gespielt in verschiedenen Tonhöhen. Zusätzlich habe ich nochmals Marlena Shaw gesamplet, diesmal den Song “Woman of the Ghetto”.
Zum Schluss noch Gurus Erklärung, was “Dwyck” bedeuten soll:
It was like a slang thing we used to do. [...] You used be in a crowd and say someone’s name and go ‘Yo! Son!’ The person would turn around and go ‘What? What?’ and you would say: ‘Dwyck!’. It’s like ‘My dick!’. It means the male genitalia. We switched it up to ‘Dwyck’. It was just some shit to psyche each other out.
